How to Get to Victoria

Located at the southernmost tip of Vancouver Island, the city of Victoria is accessible by ferry and by air, as well as by highway.

Just getting to Victoria can be a joy. Vancouver Island has a unique West Coast beauty that you can't miss, whether you come to Victoria by air, by sea, or by land.

The BC Ferries trip from Tsawassen to Swartz Bay is an experience of its own - navigating through the Gulf Islands via Active Pass, passengers are often lucky enough to see whales and other native sea life from the ferry's outside decks. From the Swartz Bay Terminal it's a short 30 minute drive or bus ride into the city.
Ferry passengers arriving from Port Angeles or Seattle can skip the drive into town - the Clipper and Coho ferries dock right in the Inner Harbour. In fact, the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival races are actually paused briefly each day to allow the boats in and out of the harbour.

With their terminal located at the north end of Paddlers' Village, Harbour Air will take you directly from Vancouver to the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival. Their float planes make quick, 30 minute hops from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria on a regular schedule throughout the day.
Teams wait while the Coho Ferry docks in Victoria's Inner Harbour.
